Mind’s Eye

Leave Earth and Moon behind, wander in close to the Sun, swing out past Venus, and stride into the outer reaches of the solar system via Juno. Roam around The Heart of Pluto and continue all the way out to the edge of the explored universe with Voyager…

Mind's Eye is an audio installation which brings art and the space sciences together and offers the audience an opportunity to explore and uncover the mysteries of our solar system through the voices of those most familiar with it.

Audiences pick up a set of headphones and take a trip on foot through the solar system guided by scientists, astrophysicists and engineers working on the active missions in space.

Mind’s Eye App

An app was designed to accompany our Mind's Eye installation at Manchester Central Library, as part of Manchester Science Festival to intersperse factual, historical and cultural references about humanity’s search to understand the mysteries of our solar system and encourage audience’s think about where space exploration will take us next?

The audio installation and app was free and employed beacon technology to react to audiences location and nudge individuals to interact with the library - from delving into video archive footage to finding hidden messages in leather bound physics books in the reference section.
